Currently more than four out of ten cars and vans fail the MOT under the existing regime with lights, suspension and brake defects the major factors.

Reducing the frequency of MOT tests will add considerable risk to the financial costs that motorists bear.

First MOT test to remain at 3 years!

The Government proposed plans to reduce the frequency of MOT testing, but announced on 18th January 2018 that they would maintain the period before a car's first test at 3 years due to safety concerns.
